Secure Payment

Your personal details are secure when purchasing through this website.

Your connection to any page where you enter personal data is encrypted with the latest GeoTrust 256-bit secure socket layer (SSL) technology - you will see the padlock symbol appear in your browser, and the browser address will change from 'http://' to 'https://' when you are on a secure page.

Additionally, when making payment you will be connected to our payment processor (Sage Pay) to enter your card details using secure SSL connections directly onto their secure servers. We do not have access to any details you enter.

Who are Sage Pay?

Sage Pay (formerly called Protx) is a division of Sage UK Ltd, a FTSE 100 company that has produced leading business accounting software for over 20 years. Sage bought Protx in 2007 and re-branded the business as 'Sage Pay'. Sage Pay is now the the largest independent payment service provider (PSP) in the UK, servicing card payments for over 33,000 online businesses in the UK and Ireland, including many large well-known brands such as EasyJet and LoveFilms.com. They connect to all of the major high-street merchant acquiring banks such as HSBC, Lloyds TSB, Barclays, RBS and American Express. They are PCI Level 1 compliant as a payment service provider and have regular PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) audits by the high street banks, credit card companies, and outside assessors to ensure the security of their systems.

What is 'Verified by Visa' and 'Mastercard SecureCode'?

These security schemes, collectively known as '3D Secure', are the online versions of 'Chip & PIN' and provide a further level of security for you when shopping.

If your card has been enrolled in either the 'Mastercard SecureCode', or 'Verified by Visa' security schemes by your card issuer, you will automatically be transferred to your card issuer's secure authorisation page to enter your security code (password) as part of the Sage Pay payment process.

In summary, since your card details are entered either directly onto our payment processor's secure site, or directly onto your card issuer's secure site, who then verify your details and confirm the transaction directly with your bank or card company via our merchant acquiring bank RBS Streamline (part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group) and then notify us whether the payment has been authorised or not, we do not have any access to your card details or security password.
